Regional Facilitator

Early Childhood Education ICT Professional Learning Programme

(Contract position)

We are seeking a regional facilitator for the Wellington – Manawatu - Hawkes Bay cluster in the ECE ICT Professional Learning programme.  The successful applicant will work with 10 teaching teams, currently investigating ways to maximise the benefits of integrated ICT use in their centres.  The position involves, visiting the centres, facilitating workshops and regional hui, contributing to an online community and associated administration.

An appropriate diploma/degree in early childhood education or equivalent is required and it is desirable that they have experience in early years teaching.  The position involves travel and requires the facilitator to have a home office.

The successful applicant will bring an enthusiastic commitment to enhancing learning and teaching through ICT, be an effective team player who can work independently in a time efficient way, and who is innovative and creative in their approach to work.  This position requires a professional who has strong organisational, writing and reporting skills and an understanding of evidence-based pedagogical strategies.

The ECE ICT PL programme is a government initiative, managed by CORE Education who employ the facilitators.  The successful applicant would start immediately and be contracted until January 2010.
