BEST Pacific Institute of Education is the largest Pacific dedicated private training establishment in the country with 20 years experience in serving the educational and vocational needs of Pacific communities in the Auckland region.
An exciting opportunity has become available for an Innovative leader with exceptional relationship skills combined with a depth of understanding of the education sector to drive forward and manage the delivery of our Certificate in Pre-Teacher Education in the area of Early Childhood Education and Primary School teaching.
Ideally you will have a passion and desire to work with a wide range of people to lead the programme and secure pathways for our graduates into Teacher Education programmes at University level.
The role’s responsibilities will need you to:

Act as a strong advocate for BEST and network effectively with key stakeholders within the education, tertiary, Maori and Pacific stakeholder groups

Staff management

Work closely with our sales and marketing team to develop initiatives for student recruitment

Work closely with the education organisations to ensure that the curriculum and assessment is aligned to meet the entry criteria of the Teacher Education programme
-
Provide professional advice on related policies, procedures and issues relevant to the teaching field

Teach within the programmes as required
To be considered for this position, you will need:

Proven exceptional leadership skills with an operational and strategic focus
-
A sound knowledge and understanding of the education sector
-
Knowledge of the theory and practice of teaching and the learning and the principles of quality teaching and learning

An understanding of the curriculum development and implementation relative to ECE & the Primary sector
-
A strong understanding of the learning needs of the Māori and Pacific students
-
Fluency in a Pacific language desirable but not essential
-
Experience in facilitating workshops, meetings and presentations

Outstanding relationship management skills with proven ability to network effectively with key stakeholders within the Education, Tertiary and local community groups

A self starter with a high level of motivation and initiative
-
A relevant qualification in Education and/or Management

A full drivers license
