Writing for New Zealand Education Gazette – submission guidelines

New Zealand Education Gazette is produced under contract to the Ministry of Education. We welcome curriculum-related contributions from schools.

Submissions should be emailed to editor@edgazette.govt.nz as Word or text documents.

Articles should generally be no more than 1000 words in length (usually) and should be accompanied by photos supporting the subject material. Photos should be jpg and no less than 1MB size, fully named and captioned.

Articles should not take the form of 'advertorial' – that is, undue praise of a particular employer, product, company or education service provider. They should contain information of real interest and value to the education sector because it is informative and serves as an exemplar of best practice or steps toward best practice.

Education Gazette is not an academic journal, so bibliographies and references will not be included in the articles we run. It is enough to write, for example, “... American research has found…” rather than citing an exact reference. Links and appropriate URL can be included at the end of the story.

All copy supplied will be passed by relevant Ministry of Education experts before publication.

THINK you have taken a cover photo at your school?

SEND IT TO US!

Photos should be 300 dpi at A4 portrait size and supplied as jpeg files that are 2Mb or larger.

Written parental permission must be provided for all photos of children.

Entries can be sent via email to barbara@apn-ed.co.nz
