Submit a story idea

Do you have a story you want to share with other early childhood education services or schools?

Tell us about it and it may be published in the Education Gazette. Education Gazette articles aim to inspire teaching and learning, as well as celebrating success and innovation. This is where your stories can make the articles useful for others.

At the moment, we’d like stories about e-learning, students managing their own learning, preparing students for moving between levels, eg from ECE to primary, primary to secondary. We’d like to know:

  • Your story’s context – for example how it fits with the NZ Curriculum, supports cultural competencies, or helps raise student achievement
  • What you did, what worked well, and what you’d do differently next time. How was it effective for teachers, parents, and students
  • Contact details for people to interview and how they relate to the story
  • Helpful links or documents with related information
  • Low resolution (email size) photos to go with it. If we use them we will ask for high resolution versions

If suitable, we will add your story idea to the publishing calendar and our reporter will be in touch with you.

Email your story ideas to reporter@edgazette.govt.nz.

Photos

We are looking for high quality photos for the Education Gazette cover. Cover photos must be vertical/portrait format – not horizontal – and ideally depict students engaged in activity. For print publishing, photos must be at least 300 dpi or over one MB.

Please note that we need written permission from everyone in the photo – including parental permission for younger children.
