Tertiary Fees Funding Support: Literacy

The Ministry of Education is supporting primary and intermediate teachers who want to study tertiary literacy papers in 2010. This initiative is part of the ministry’s efforts to enhance teachers’ knowledge and understanding in key areas of learning and teaching as we move to implement National Standards in Reading and Writing. This opportunity may build on from literacy professional development programmes and supports schools’ efforts to raise the achievement of all their students against the National Standards through increasing the expertise and knowledge of their teachers.
