Board Alert
Principal concurrence applications
Principals can be eligible for an additional payment on top of their remuneration for additional tasks and responsibilities they undertake during the school year. This is paid from school funds. If a school board wishes to make an additional payment, the board must apply to the Ministry of Education for concurrence (approval) to pay it.
If your board wants to make an additional payment, please note:
Apply for Ministry concurrence as soon as possible, it is not granted retrospectively.
We only give concurrence for one year at a time. If your principal received an additional payment in 2011 and you want this to continue, you must apply for this year.
Concurrence criteria for additional payments are in circular 2011-02. See:www.minedu.govt.nz/circulars

Principal Alert

ENROL year levels

In early January 2012, ENROL increased the year levels for each student enrolled at your school. This change did not include new entrants who started after 1 July 2011 or students in the highest year level for your school type, e.g. year 8 for a full primary school.
If you still need to make your 2011 end-of-year student withdrawals, please check your students carefully before withdrawing them, as their year levels may have changed.
Before withdrawing a student, you need to set the student to last year’s year level. If a student’s year level has changed, you need to roll it back manually before withdrawing them. This will help the next school enrol the student and improve the information in ENROL.
For help to withdraw students from ENROL, email the Ministry’s e-Admin Contact Centre, at: e.admin@minedu.govt.nz
phone 04 463 8383.
